父母對於兒童參與運動的影響一直是我們所關切的議題，根據Eccles，Wigfield，與Schiefele (1998)所提出的父母社會化模式，父母對於兒童參與運動的信念及行為表現的影響有可能透過角色楷模、經驗的詮釋及經驗的提供此三個管道來傳遞。過去研究在經驗的詮釋此管道已有較一致的發現，但是角色楷模及經驗的提供此兩個管道則尚未能有定論。本文除了根據Eccles等(1983, 1998)的期望價值理論及父母社會化模式來探討父母影響兒童參與運動的機制，也針對Stein, Raedeke,與Glenn(1999)的研究發現及過去研究不足之處，提出未來值得研究的方向。
