身體活動的參與不但可以增進身體能力及減少疾病發生,並對心理健康有著正面影響。近年來,研究發現孩童在參與身體活動後對其在認知表現上呈現正向之影響;然亦發現孩童身體活動的參與卻隨著年紀增長而日益減少。究其原因可能爲大眾視身體活動的益處應爲身體而非心理範疇有直接關係,而這觀點與當代身心範疇可相互影響的身心一元論不一致。因此,提昇孩童身體活動與認知功能在學術研究的知識並加以應用,是有其必要性的。爲此,本研究之目的是回顧國內外相關身體活動如健身運動、身體適能與體育課程等類型,對不同族群孩童在多種認知功能表現的研究發現,並就相關性與實驗性等研究類型做一論述,希望能提供學者與大眾對此議題在學術上的參考依據。
