中文摘要 |
This study investigated the renal and hepatic function of 105 workers at six factories manufacturing explosives. The three exposed groups, working in factories producing dynamite, sparklers, and firecrackers, consisted of 53, 41 and 11 workers, respectively. The non-exposed group consisted of 42 individuals with no exposure to explosives from the administrative staff. Significantly higher rates of self-reported symptoms, such as nasal acridity, airway allergy, and feelings of nausea, were found in the exposed group (p<0.05). The smoking rate, however, was also higher in the exposed group. Medical examinations including tests of liver and kidney function were performed. The exposed and non-exposed groups had similar mean values in tests of aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase, but the abnormality rate in AST tests was significantly higher in the exposed group. The mean value and abnormality rate of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were also significantly higher in the exposed group. No significant differences were observed in liver function between the three factory types. The sparkler group had the highest urine bilirubin abnormality rate and a higher mean BUN, which remained significant after controlling for smoking, sex, and age. In conclusion, workers in sparkler factories were the most influenced by work factors on renal function. |
