This study discusses the interaction effects of organizational factors and individual factors on safety performance. 465 employees from four colleges in central Taiwan completed a self-administered questionnaire. The researchers used a two-way Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) to analyze the data. The researchers found that there are interaction effects on safety performance between 1) size and accident experience; 2) safety committee and gender; 3) safety committee and accident experience; 4) location and accident experience. Because the interaction effects discovered are disordinal, safety managers must take measures to improve safety for different classes of employees in different kinds of organizations. Based on these results, the authors advise safety managers to take note of these interaction effects in order to raise the effectiveness and efficiency of safety improvements.
