工程倫理的首要意義，是在建立專業工程人員應有的認知與實踐的原則，以及工程人員之間或與團體及社會其他成員互動時，應遵循的行為規範，這一規範攸關著工程品質的優劣及所有人、使用人權益、企業永續，更間接影響國家整體的競爭力。本案例以自駕車辨識系統工程人員A君為探討的主角，詳細闡述其過去發生倫理的衝突問題與處理方式，以及現今工程倫理所採用的新抉擇步驟。過去，A君以檢舉的方式，盡到工程人員對於人文社會的責任，工程倫理是工程技術的道德原則系統，是一種應用倫理：現今，工程人員面對專業素養及操守責任，除了應兼顧道德義務與效益，也要面對企業與社會更高的期待，A君如何擇善而從？

The primary significance of engineering ethics is to establish the principles of cognition and practice that professional engineering personnel should have, and the behavioral norms that engineering personnel should follow when interacting with each other or with other members of the group and society. This norm is related to the quality of the project, the rights and interests of the owners and users, and the sustainability of the business. It also indirectly affects the overall competitiveness of the country. This case uses Mr. A of autonomous driving car identification system engineer as the protagonist to discuss, detailing his past ethical conflicts and handling methods, as well as the new decision-making steps used in engineering ethics today. In the past, Mr. A fulfilled the responsibilities of engineers to the humanistic society by whistleblowing. Engineering ethics is a system of moral principles for engineering technology and a kind of applied ethics. Nowadays, when faced with professionalism and ethical responsibilities, engineers should not only consider both moral obligations and efficiency must also face higher expectations from enterprises and society. How does Mr. A choose the good and follow it?
