Huang Se Sun is a philosopher in Jiaqing Daoguang period which scholars advocated the incorporation of practical application and spiritual interpretation of 「Yi-Jing 」(”Book of Changes” or ”Classic of Changes”). They strongly believed a laureate scholars should focus on the meaningful comprehension rather than different factions of the research. Furthermore, they supposed that denotation signs (Gua) should be valued as important as its connotation behind. Different from some scholars such as, HwiDon and Chang HwiYen insisted the doctrinaire has higher value, Huang encouraged the liberal perspective and should dominate the study of「Yi-Jing」.
Huang affirmed the theme of any study is the wisdom rather than its historical background. His collections and references without any boundary to accomplish an extensive view for the study, and they are all supported with abundant factual evidences from his research. He claimed what makes a theory distinctive over time is its contents rather than the people who are holding it. Therefore, he enhanced the correlation of 64 Gua and the interpretation of each Gua. Moreover, he distinguished the analysis from different scholars and determined the substantial principle of 「Yi-Jing」. His study surely made a significant contribution shaping the philosophy in the Chinese culture.
