資訊科技的進步與閱聽人生活型態的改變,使資訊的呈現不再限於單一型式,科學議題的訊息也不限於文字或圖像,可包含聲音和互動點擊,協助閱聽人瞭解議題或事件的脈絡。本研究將資訊圖像的呈現,分為靜態式、動態式與互動式三種型態,並採用準實驗法探討科學議題以不同的資訊圖像呈現時,對閱聽人閱讀經驗與閱讀理解的影響。本研究以基因改造作物為主題,設計四種型態的文本,含控制組的純文字及三組實驗組的資訊圖像,再比較四組受試者對文本的整體評價及對內容主題的瞭解。本研究招募大學以上學生計840位參與線上實驗。研究發現,靜態式和動態式資訊圖像予閱聽人較佳的閱讀經驗,但純文字和互動式資訊圖像較能提升其閱讀理解。這指出,當科學議題以視覺圖像或聲音影像呈現時,確實對閱聽人較具吸引力,但欲提高閱聽人對文本主題的理解,仍需借重文字及互動式介面的設計。本結果可應用於科學議題的資訊呈現,協助公眾瞭解科學知識。

英文摘要

Along with the development of information technology and changes of people's lifestyle, science issue information is no longer confined to words and pictures, but containing sounds and interactive clicks to help the audience comprehend issues or events. To understand this phenomenon, this study conducted an online experiment to compare the impact of different types of information, including three infographic types which are static, dynamic and interactive, as well as text-only version, on the audience. This study adopted genetially modified crops (GMC) as the topic to design science issue texts. Subjects for the web-based experiment were universtiy students. In total, 840 students participated in the experiment. Results showed that those who read static and dynamic infographics had better reading experience than the others, but those who read text-only and interactive infographic had better reading comprehension than the others. Overall, the findings suggest that science issue infographics including pictures and voices are more appealing to the audience, but text-only and interactive infographic are still important for the audience to comprehend the content. Results from this study can be applied to the presentation of science issues to help promote public understanding of science.
