Atorvastatin為3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitor，於1996年通過美國Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 核准上市，臺灣衛生福利部核准適應症為高膽固醇血症、高三酸甘油酯血症。臨床上常見副作用包括：肌痛、腹瀉、關節痛、四肢痛、噁心等。嚴重副作用：肝指數上升、橫紋肌溶解等。另外，亦有報告指出atorvastatin曾有做惡夢的副作用。本文探討一位有冠心病、三高之74歲女性，於服用atorvastatin期間出現做惡夢的現象，醫師改使用pravastatin後，未再抱怨做惡夢，排除其他疾病與併用藥品因素後，懷疑夢魘是atorvastatin造成之不良反應。

Atorvastatin is a 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitor approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1996. It is indicated for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia. The common adverse effects of atorvastatin include diarrhea, joint pain, limb pain, nausea, and others. Atorvastatin has also been associated with serious adverse events, including increased liver enzymes, rhabdomyolysis, and others. In addition, there have also been reports that atorvastatin may rarely cause nightmares. We report the case of a 74-year-old woman with coronary artery disease, hypertension, hyperglycemia and hypercholesterolemia who experienced nightmares during treatment with atorvastatin. With the cessation of atorvastatin, her nightmares gradually decreased and disappeared. She no longer experiences nightmares. After eliminating other factors, healthcare providers should consider the possibility of atorvastatin-induced sleep disorder patients receiving this medication.
