中文摘要 |
Menopause increased the risk of obesity and abdominal fat distribution, which associated increase in health risks. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of short-term weight control program on body composition, self-efficacy and eating behavior in pre-and postmenopausal women. 37 overweight women participated in this study, 10 premenopausal and 27 postmenopausal women received 1400±200 kcal/day and 8 weeks weight reduction program. Body composition, self-efficacy and eating behavior were measured before and after weight reduction. Data show BMI, fat mass, waist circumference and waist to hip ratio decreased (p<0.01), and self-efficacy, eating behavior increased (p<0.01) in both groups. But there were no significant differences in weight reduction outcome of pre-and postmenopausal women. We conclude that short term weight control program has a beneficial impact on body mass index, fat mass, waist circumference, waist to hip ratio, self-efficacy and eating behavior, irrespective of their menopausal status. |
