人是否可能被其死後的事件所傷害？關於這個問題，Epicurus是站在反對的一方，其論證的要點是：死亡無法對死者本人造成任何傷害，因爲當死亡發生時，已不復存在一個主體，故傷害無由發生。這個說法似乎言之成理；可是，另一方面，我們卻又強烈地覺得，人確實會受到其身後所發生之事件的傷害。在面對這個兩難時，我是站在支持「身後傷害」的立場，故本文首先駁斥Epicurus論證，接著提出身後傷害之所以可能的理據，最後得出以下兩點結論：(1)身後傷害的主體是「生前者」；(2)人是在「生前」受到身後傷害。
