At present, the interpretations of Xie Lingyun's Landscape Poetry by the mainstream academic, mainly focuses on the integrations of Xuan Li (玄理) of Buddhism and Taoism. Mr.Tan Jia-zhe choses to break away from the mainstream interpretations, and returns to the traditional Hermeneutics of" Poetry Expressing the Heart" (詩言志) in Chinese poetry. Adopting "the holistic insight" and analyzing the texts immersingly, he suggests that that Xie's landscape and travel Poetry always embodies the "human nature of goodness and beauty", reflects on people's "hearts and emotions". Through the "phased research" model, Mr. Tan points out that the significances of the landscape poetry are reflected in different aspects of Xie's life experiences, such as: the author's life situations, the discovery of tranquility, the sweetness and vitality, the heterogeneity and transcendence of landscapes, the interdependencies and deep-seated gestures of landscapes, the loneliness and hidden subtle of the realms of landscape, etc. Tan's unique and profound interpretations are worthy of being noticed by the academic world.
