The study aims to clarify the research framework of language behavior in Japanese education field and attempts to recognize the issues lying in the research of language behavior in Japanese education field.
The research procedure is as follows:
First of all, the correlations among the theoretical backgrounds of language behavior, language competence, and language education were clarified. Secondly, the competence in language behavior related to Japanese education was analyzed in terms of three aspects: language, communication behavior, and culture. This analytic process was simultaneously used to reflect on the problems lying in the research of language behavior in Japanese education field.
The results show: the problems lying in the research of language behavior in Japanese education field include linguistic ones such as Li transfer, communication behavioral ones such as the process of symbolization and interpretation, and cultural ones such as relativity and homogeneity among cultures etc. These problems will be critical research issues concerning future Japanese education in Taiwan.
