Among the four basic language learning skills, Listening is the hardest one for students. They do not know how to start result in poor study achievement. Purposes of this research include (1) to examine after one semester well designed curriculum of advanced listening course if student shows noticeable improvement of ability-to-change developed when applying learning strategies. (2)To examine if it can help to boost the learning effect of listening comprehension while the ability of utilizing strategies improved.
Result of this research indicates that students' ability of utilizing learning strategies can be improved through listening practice exercises offered during the designed teaching activities. For the result of 6 strategy categories utilization, Memory strategy of category A shows max. change in both semester while the least change for Affective strategy of category E in 1(superscript st) semester and the Social strategy of category F in 2(superscript nd) semester. For strategy tactics execution, the item #1-Note down vocabularies while watching audiovisual teaching material. Then memorize them after look up. Based on above results, we can conclude that there is relationship between curriculum contents and change of learning strategy use. This fact provides good reference for future Learning Strategy course teaching.
