在外語的學習過程中,相信許多學習者都有「使用語彙」不足之經驗。有鑑於此,本研究著眼於語彙使用發展中之「多樣性」觀點,針對會話中學習者能夠使用多少富含變化的語彙作了縱斷性的調查。 本調查是抽取台灣東吳大學LARP語料庫中一名學習者之訪談資料分節成「短單位」,並依據「D指標」處理其「使用語彙」之多樣性數量化。觀察分析該生三年半之指標值的變化,得出多樣化的過程可分爲以下三階段:「緩慢上昇期:指標值緩慢上昇的階段」、「高低震盪期:依狀況能使用多樣語詞階段」、「多樣語彙運用期:更穩定使用多樣語詞階段」。而「更穩定使用階段」是學習日語之後第三年得以達成,由此再次確認在JFL環境下之口語語詞穩定運用能力需花費很長的時間才足以獲得。 |
英文摘要 |
Many learners of foreign language might feel lack of productive vocabulary in the process of their development. This case study aims to present and discuss a development of lexical use by a JFL learner, focusing on 'lexical diversity', which can be described as the range and variety of vocabulary used in a discourse. I surveyed the LARP corpus conversation data of an undergraduate student recorded for a period of three years and a half (33 waves) by the Soochow University in Taiwan. Every single spontaneous utterance of the learner was divided into the short unit, and then the each wave's lexical diversity was quantified with the D-index. Observing the trajectory of the index values, I found that the development of the lexical diversity of the learner shows three stages; gradual ascent, occasional diversification, almost stabilizing. Meanwhile, the trajectory shows that the learner arrived at the third stage after two years' learning. This can be seen as evidence that shows that developing proficiency of conversation needs long time for JFL learners. |
