1871年牡丹社事件之後,台灣原住民的野蠻人形象經由博覽會,民俗舊慣調查,文學及大眾傳播等方面的轉載及再生產,不斷地變形與固定化,近代殖民主義的文明馴服野蠻思考模式也更加深植日本。1930年台灣霧社事件發生後,不少日本人作家以台灣原住民的割顱行為為題材寫作,1935年大鹿卓發表了『野蠻人』,獲選為『中央公論』的懸賞小說,中村地平繼而於1940年前後以牡丹社事件與霧社事件為主題執筆小說,描述事件起因時除了錯誤的理蕃政策與出草獵首的文化意義之外, 也提到台灣原住民的野性未消。原住民獵首文化的割顱行為與抗日事件中計畫性的割顱行為被混為一談,更加強化了野蠻人的表徵。張文環的「部落的慘劇」緊接著在1941年發表,此意有所指的題目及寫實描繪的割顱題材,乍看之下極可能被誤認為是部順應時代描寫台灣原住民的作品,事實上卻大相逕庭。文中的部落指的是昭和初期奉守童養媳等舊慣的漢民族村落,雖然有名女性被割了頭顱,其原因乃是出於誤殺;儘管題目定為「慘劇」,作品中卻是歡喜結尾。本文欲從此割顱的行為書寫意義思索出發,探究作品的深層結構與「慘劇」所指的意涵。 |

After the Botan Incident in 1871, the barbarian Image of Taiwan indigenous people had been transformed and fixed through the reprints and reproduction of various exposition, folk custom research, literature and mass media, which makes the thought of civilization of modern colonialism deeply rooted into people's mind. After the Musha Incident in 1930, the authority also attributed the cause of the event to the old habits of Taiwan indigenous people of cutting heads.”The Tragedy of the Tribe” composed by Tyo BunKan (Zhang Wen-huan) was presented soon in 1941; however, this artwork is drastically different with the Japanese-written novels of similar scull-cutting theme. The ”tribe” in this novel refers to the Han nationality in which some old customs, like child brides, are still obeyed. As stated in the novel, a woman was sheared of her head, but she was killed mistakenly, and the novel has a happy ending. This article is to start by searching for the meaning of scull-shearing behavior, and look to the structure and the concept referring to ”tragedy”. |
