肥胖是導致胰島素阻抗、高血壓、心臟病以及第二型糖尿病等慢性疾病的主因,最常使用的減重策略莫過於增加熱量消耗,並規劃合宜之限制熱量攝取,以達到能量負平衡、減輕體重之目的,然而於相同減重策略下,常可以發現每個人減重成效並不相同。對於代謝特性異常之胰島素阻抗者而言,其減重策略特點經相關研究回顧之後整理如下:在減少相同熱量攝取情形下,低昇糖飲食或是高脂肪比例飲食對於胰島素阻抗者有較佳之減重效果,此外,運動後立即進食是增加減重效果的關鍵因素。適合胰島素阻抗者之運動或身體活動模式是以漸進的方式,每週消耗500-2,000 Kcal為目標,每次至少持續20分鐘,一天至少累積40分鐘的活動量。
