棒球運動深受到國人的喜愛和關注，在棒球比賽中，投手扮演相當重要的角色，經過長期的比賽負荷與訓練不可避免地讓這些優秀投手身上多少留下累積性的傷害，基於上述因素，減少投手運動傷害與疲勞累積，以及提升投手投球的能力，已成為大家最關心的課題之一。從過往許多研究報告中，利用運動生物力學理論分析與運動科學訓練評估方法，來了解整個投球的動作機制，且強調動力鏈的觀念，讓教練與選手能理解增加上肢、軀幹和下肢協調的重要性，及如何有效轉動軀幹以減少能量傳遞的耗損，配合加強訓練背部的肌力，都是目前教練與選手所應具備的知識，如此方能有效地延長投手的選手生涯。
