The power is not only the most important component among all sport fitness but also an optimal factor in enhancing sport performance. However, many athletes are given long distance training programs to develop cardiovascular endurance. More and more studies indicate that progressive aerobic exercise may induce adverse adaptations in neuromuscular function and increase the incidence of overtraining and ineffective motor movement. If aerobic endurance training is continuously imposed on all levels of competition, it might demonstrate an interference effect on sport performance. This paper attempts to examine the problems with regards to the methods and forms of power-oriented sports training. Subsequently, it proposes different means of strength training to oppose the effects of concurrent strength and endurance training.
