spironolactone 為WADA運動禁藥清單中S5利尿劑及其他遮蔽劑之利尿劑成分，目前常用於治療痤瘡（即青春痘），極易造成運動員誤用的情形發生，運動員及運動相關人士應多瞭解此藥物以避免運動員誤用。spironolactone因為具有「雄性賀爾蒙接受體阻斷劑」的作用，對於成人型痤瘡有良好治療效果，女性運動員容易發生誤用；現代利尿劑檢測技術日益精進，即使用量很少還是會被檢驗出陽性，所以在必要使用前治療用途豁免的賽前申請更顯得重要。

Spironolactone is one of the diuretics, which has been included in doping list S5 of diuretics and other masking agents of WADA. Athletes and sport stakeholders should learn more about doping to avoid misuse. Spironolactone is the blocker for androgenic hormone receptor and has been widely used for the acne (pimples) treatment in female. The chance of spironolactone misuse in female athletes is higher than that of male. Even very small quantities can be detected. Therefore, it is very important for athletes to apply Therapeutic Use Exemption before they use.
