英文摘要 |
Hidden cavities in a coastal dyke are key indications of possible soil subsidence or seepage piping within the soil of the dyke. The main purpose of this research was to study the detectability and location of cavities in a coastal dyke using the ground penetrating radar method (GPR). A series of numerical simulations and field tests were conducted. The results show that the average area difference of GPR signals is influenced by the size of a cavity. Using the average area difference curve, shallow cavities in a coastal dyke can be identified effectively. |
