The complexity of the current electricity grids requires managers to look for a solution to provide effective control. The main objective of this work is to provide a control in steady and transient state of a power system through the use of two different devices, one is the IPFC which is a FACTS device ensures the control of the system in steady state by controlling the power flow in transmission lines and the other is the SMES unit which is a very powerful component for storing electric energy to improve transient stability of the power system. Using the phasor type of these devices, the WSCC 3 machines 9 buses power system is taken as a test system. The results show the effectiveness of the proposal approach to control the system in a steady state as well as in transient stability. |
