石斛蘭播種後2.5個月，液體播種之小植株其鮮或乾重分別為固體播種植株之4倍或10倍。石斛蘭液體培養以株高5-10mm（2片葉），每個9公分培養皿50個培殖體、20ml培養液生長最佳，有最高之鮮、乾重，也顯著較固體培養效果好。若以3cm株高之大苗為材料，以扦插海綿為支撐物，添加120ml培養液，或40ml固體培養基，添加120ml培養液時偽球莖及根徑最粗。而於固體培養基則根較長、葉較多。

After sowing for two and half months, the fresh or dry weight of dendrobium seedlings in a static liquid medium was 10 or 4 times of that on a solid medium, respectively. Fifty dendrobium seedlings of 5~10 mm (2 leaves) cultured in 9 cm petridish filled with 20 ml liquid medium, the fresh or dry weight of seedling was higher than that cultured on a solid medium. Dendrobium seedlings of 3 cm in height cultured on supports of sponge cube with 120 ml liquid medium compared those cultured on a solid medium compared those cultured on a solid medium. The former had thicker pseudobulb and roots diameter, on the other hand, the later had more leaves and longer roots.
