青少年小說《腦海中的夢》探討青少年如何面對他們生活中的疑慮與困境，如何找到出路。敘述的焦點放在青少年主人翁達能旭，他在寄宿學校與同儕之生活寫照，以及與養父由不自在到互相了解的關係。身為年輕作家的Nicole Meister很巧妙的運用青少年語言反映出青少年次文化，呼籲讀者正視親情關係之重要性。

The German novel ”Träume im Kopf” deals with youth at the crossroads of life, and how they struggle for a way-out. The focus of the novel is on the young protagonist Danesh, his life at the boarding school with his peers, as well as his disappointing relationship with his foster-father, which finally turns into mutual understanding. Nicole Meister, as a young writer herself, uses skillfully the language of young people to portray the subculture of youth here, and tries to appeal to readers' experiences of domestic happiness.
