在對空間介詞短語的研究中，近年來有一個見解普遍受到重視，即趨向介詞的補語並非名詞短語而是處所介詞短語。根據這個看法，語意上表示趨向還是表示處所取決於介詞短語的架構，而非介詞的詞彙語義，介詞短語的架構也反映在格位標記上。本文即採用這個觀點來分析德語和漢語裡表處所和趨向的空間介詞短語，並從事件架構觀點來解釋其句法表現和語意之間的連結關係。

This study investigates spatial prepositional phrases (PPs) in German and Chinese, adopting the proposal that directional PPs embed a locative PP. According to this view, the semantics of these PPs is determined by their structure, not by the lexical properties of the preposition. The morphological case-markings of the noun phrases in these PPs reflect the internal structures of the PPs. This study argues that event structure may account for the linking between the semantics and the syntax of spatial PPs.
