中西文裡的「名詞+顏色形容詞」組合結構為詞彙化的名詞詞組。中文詞組語意表達「屬性關係」，指稱對象為特定實體或抽象意義，詞彙能產性比西文高。西班牙文功能不以分類為主，語意體現原始意涵。中文詞組能產性由內涵意義發展出來，表達名詞指稱對象固有屬性及特性描述。中文詞彙化有兩種表現方式: 首先，在外來詞的對應結構上，「色」字與表顏色之詞成分結合形式及順序固定，且語意不變; 此外，某些顏色詞沿用古字，詞意表專指或抽象。

In Mandarin Chinese and Spanish nominal phrases, the combination of noun and color adjective is considered the result of lexicalization. In Mandarin Chinese, this lexical form has a relatively higher productivity than in Spanish, because the compounds present the relationship of an entity belonging to a particular class of realities. In Spanish this trend toward the classification is not a typical word formation process, because these Spanish equivalents correspond to a simple and primitive noun. Furthermore, in Mandarin Chinese these color adjectives with intentional value represent an inherent attribute by the designation of nouns and lack of classifier function. The lexicalization extends to two configurations: the fixation of 'sè 色 color' with the corresponding chromatic adjective, especially in recent Anglicism; the use of certain classical terms of chromatic adjectives.
