Based on the comparison of the cognition of the post-war Japanese and American frameworks, the research on The Glass Slipper can be divided into two stages. Although the two stages are inevitably and rationally existing due to reasons such as the background of the time, the research about metaphor in the second stage appears to be closer to the content of the novel. However, although the second stage of the study has a common premise and is more objective, there is a great deal of divergence in the interpretation of the story. By sorting out the emotional development of the hero and heroine, we can find that the novel expresses the complex and contradictory feelings of Japan towards the United States during the Japanese occupation after the defeat. |
