《游泳池畔》是短篇小說集《迴轉木馬的終端》中的第三篇小說。在對該小說集前言所進行的說明中，村上春樹宣稱要對此前現實主義進行革新，並以自己的方式抓住某種絕對的真實。這表明該短篇小說集中的所有作品都應以此為目的，但考察有關《游泳池畔》的既有研究可以發現：該作品不僅未能引起研究界的足夠關注，而且在為數不多的分析中也沒有與村上春樹的「文學宣言」相結合。如果從村上春樹的「文學宣言」出發會發現，短篇小說《游泳池畔》是村上春樹在探討如何抓住某種絕對真實時的一個環節。即在試圖抓住某種絕對真實時，身體主體優於意識主體，但由於身體主體本身存在局限性，因此如何抓住某種絕對的真實還需進一步探尋其他途徑。｜Poolside is the third short story in the short story collection Kaiten Mokuba No Dead Heat. In the introduction to the collection, Haruki Murakami declares his intention to revolutionise the existing realism and to capture a certain kind of absolute reality in his own way. This suggests that all the works in the short story collection should be aimed at this goal, but an examination of the existing studies of Poolside reveals that not only has the work failed to attract the attention of the research community, but the few analyses that have been carried out do not include it in Murakami's "literary manifesto". If we start from Murakami's "literary manifesto", we will find that the short story Poolside is part of Murakami's exploration of how to capture a certain absolute truth. That is, in trying to capture a certain absolute truth, the body subject is superior to the consciousness subject, but because of the limitations of the body subject itself, there is a need to further explore other ways of capturing a certain absolute truth.｜Poolside is the third short story in the short story collection Kaiten Mokuba No Dead Heat.
