二戰之後，歐美世界通史教材中有關啟蒙運動的敘述內容出現相當大的變化：1950年代的教學以介紹有名望的文人作家為主，到了二十一世紀初期則轉而聚焦造成菁英思想擴散的場所與媒介。本文試圖從二十世紀後半期西方學術界近代史研究視角的轉變，探討教學課程內容之所以產生異動的知識背景。
