Recently, school education has been popular and the high school enrollment rate has been greater than 95% in Taiwan. Also, because the supply of students exceeds the demand, we must homogenize the high school education and one of the strategies is to implement high school community. The implementation of high school community has been promoted by the Ministry of Education since 2001. The preparation periods were from the 2001-2002 school year, and the succession periods of the so called ”Mid-Term Plan” were from the 2003-2008 school year. The purposes of the high school community for the students consider the students' necessities, proximities to their school and construct the ”adaptive learning community” strategies for the students. The high school community provides four curriculums called General Education, Vocational Education, Gifted Education, and Physically and Mentally Retarded Education, satisfying the needs of the students .But the curriculums had problems when they were introduced. For example, some teachers did not understand the contents and the public support decreased.
The purposes of this paper are to examine the problems and possible solutions of the high school community in high schools. The author also made some suggestions for the conclusions.
