婚姻諮商的實務在台灣已有多年歷史，而性諮商的理念與實務卻才開始傳播。性諮商的地位目前曖昧不明，而性諮商本身的過程崎嶇費時。作者以自身的性諮商經驗針對女性情慾自覺的部分，呈現性諮商的輪廓。 本文約略介紹女性常見的女性性問題，並以四個性諮商實例來突顯性諮商的重要性及實用性。四位案主均為主動至諮商診所求助的已婚中年女性，自我揭露其性路歷程。在性諮商過程中產生情慾自覺及性認同。在探討案主身心方面的性困擾時，呈現女性案主的同質特性：主動前來諮商、呈現一般的婚姻問題、夫妻間缺乏性溝通、認為性行為是符合期待或要求的、中年覺醒、外來刺激及性功能本無障礙但性知識很缺乏等七項，隨後針對個人情況與需求給予不同的處遇，重點如下：自我覺醒、性認同、哀傷處理、賦權及自慰訓練。 個人性諮商必須始於伴侶性諮商或婚姻諮商，而若能在性諮商初始晤談時就與案主討論情慾自覺與性認同的議題，性詻商可以較順暢地進行。此外女性性諮商在台灣可能會有特殊限制，如移情作用、諮商師的性別、年齡及婚姻狀況等。

Marital counseling has been prevailing in Taiwan over the last two decades, whereas sex counseling has just begun and is not yet well recognized. The purpose of this study was to stress the importance and necessity of sex counseling and what it was like from the author's counseling experience focusing on women's sexual self-awareness. The frequently seen female sexual problems were briefly introduced, and the four cases were analyzed and discussed. Four clients, middle-aged females who took the initiative for sex counseling and revealed their sex life and sexuality, started to become sexually self-aware, identifying their own sexuality in the counseling process. Their homogeneities were as follows: initiative and high motivation, general marital problems presented first, lack of sex communication between the couple, sex life living up to the expectation or demand of the culture, middle-age wake-up, external stimulation, and no sexual dysfunction but poor sex knowledge. Five major interventions were applied according to the clients' situations: sexual self-awareness, sexual identity, grief work, empowerment, and masturbation training. Exploration and discussion of sexual awareness and sexual identity are encouraged in the initial sessions in order to facilitate progress in counseling. Additionally, there might be some limitations to counseling female clients in Taiwan, such as transference and counter transference, the counselor's sex, age and marital status.
