本稿は、王昶雄の短編「奔流］(1943)を対象テクストとし、周金波の作品「志願兵」(1941)と比較することで、その主題や独自性、系譜の中での位置付けを明らかにすることを目的としている。この二つの作品は、台湾文學研究においてはいずれも皇民文學であるか否かという問題意識から論じられることが多いが、本稿の問題意識はそれではなく、テクストの構造から作者の意図、作品の位置づけを考察することである。 テクスト分析からわかるのは、「奔流」がその2年前に発表された「志願兵］とモチーフ、人物設定ストーリーなど非常に類似した作品であるということである。このため、筆者は「奔流」を「志願兵」のパスティーシュであると考えている。しかし、「志願兵」と「奔流」には2年間という時間差があり、差異も大きい。1941年の台灣という時空において書かれた「志願兵」とは異なり、1943年に発表された「奔流」の主なテーマは、日本帝國の中の台湾人として、台灣あるいは台灣人であゐことをどうとらえるべきかという問題なのである。

This paper researches WANG Chang-xiong (王昶雄)'s short novel HONRYU (奔流), comparing it with ZHOU Jin-po (周金波)'s work SHIGANEI (志願兵). The main purpose of this paper is to clarify the main theme, originality, and the position of the main text in the context of Taiwanese literature in the period of Japanese colonization. In the history of Taiwanese literature, these two works raised the question of whether is imperial subject literature (皇民文學) or not. But the main focus of this paper is not on this question. From text analysis, we can find the motif, relationship between three characters, and the story of HONRYU is very similar to the story in SIGANHEI. So I think that HONRYU is in pastiche of SHIGANHEI which was published 2 years earlier. But, a gap of two years exits between the two novels, so naturally there is apparent difference in the two works. The main theme of HONRYU is 'in the Japanese Empire, and the question of how the Taiwanese think of themselves as a nation'. This theme is just on the opposite side of SIGANHEI's main theme-how Taiwanese behave as Japanese.
