中文摘要

The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between premenstrual syndrome and women's body constitution disorder in Chinese medicine. Premenstrual syndrome refers to a group of related menstrual disorders that are sufficient to impair daily activity. The investigators used a self-development questionnaire with a women's body constitution scale in Chinese Medicine (SWYBCCM) to measure the different body constitutions and a PMS questionnaire to measure symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. The study found that the most frequent symptoms of premenstrual syndrome were pain (mean=2.6), negative affect (mean=2.5), feeling pressure (mean=2.3), and water retention (mean=2.2). The main signs of body constitution disorder in Chinese medicine were lower body temperature, physical weakness, water retention, and impaired digestive function The more higher the score of SWYBCCM, the more severe the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. Pearson's correlation=0.513 (p<0.01), and mean F=72.836 (p <0.01). We used four factors from the SWYBCCM to predict the variance premenstrual syndrome. This can explain 30.3% of the variance (F=62.919, p<0.00). The largest factor was water retention (β=.25, p<0.00), the second was physical weakness (β=0.23, p<0.00). The smallest factor was lower body temperature (β=0.04, p= 0.23).
