本文探討一位53歲中年男性，為了急救因化學藥品中毒死亡的獨子，而意外吸入一氧化碳導致肺損傷病人的急性照護經驗。筆者藉由身體評估、會談、觀察家庭互動，運用羅氏適應護理模式評估，發現個案主要健康問題包括：現存性損傷、潛在危險性感染以及哀傷。護理過程中筆者運用專業知識與技能，與個案及家屬建立良好護病關係，協助個案及家屬度過喪親所帶來的哀傷過程，恢復身心的健康，逐漸面對與調適疾病及家庭結構改變所帶來的困擾，不但讓病患生命重燃，亦使一個家庭免於破碎的遺憾。將此護理經驗提出分享，盼往後對照護此類病人有所助益。

This case report describes the critical care of a 35-year-old patient suffering from CO intoxication-related lung injury after an attempt to rescue his only son who died of chemical intoxication. Skills used included evaluation, conversation, observation, and Roy's adaptation model. The patient's health problems included: existing damage, high risk of infection, and grief. During the nursing process, the nurse built a relationship with the patient and his family and helped them to process their grief over the child's death, adapt to the changes of son's death, recover physical health and restore the patient's will to live. The writer's experiences may benefit anyone nursing patients with CO intoxication and grief.
