This article describes the nursing experience of a patient diagnosed with COVID-19 and who suffered from death anxiety. The nursing period was from June 4 to 24, 2021. Gordon's 11 Functional Health Patterns were used to assess the patient's health status. The nursing care problems included impaired gas exchange, activity intolerance, anxiety, and impaired home maintenance. Care included the application of awake prone position to improve the oxygenation in the case during the nursing period. In terms of psychological status, anxiety symptoms were caused because the case worried about his illness and labeling, insufficient financial resources and family system support, and facing financial difficulties after discharging from hospital. To address these issues, the author actively contacted the patients family members so that his family members could restore a strong family bond with him, and consult with social workers to find social resources. It is also recommended that isolated cases can wear a smart sports bracelet which will keep uploading data and information. Thus, medical staff can reduce the exposure to high-risk environments and can also monitor the changes of vital signs of the case at any time.
