利用心率變異度HRV(heart rate variability)的分析方法,可以檢視人體安靜時或運動中,調節控制心臟律動之心臟自律神經系統活動狀況,且具有非侵體性、簡單、可以定量和分辨交感與副交感神經活性的優點,是目前認為評估自律神經最佳的方法之一。研究顯示經長期接受有計劃的運動訓練者,其運動訓練後之有氧運動能力不僅有顯著增加的效應,同時副交感神經的活性也有轉變為佔優勢的趨勢,而運動員有較大的心率變異度,是因為副交感神經活性較大的關係所致。因此心率變異度,不論是在運動生理學或運動科學的分析上,都具有顯著的指標性意義。

英文摘要

By using of heart rate variability (HRV) analysis, we can access the status of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) that can control and adjust heart rate at rest and exercise. HRV analysis is a simple, noninvasive method. It can measure sympathetic nervous activity and parasympathetic nervous activity. Recent studies have shown that athletes' aerobic exercise ability increases obviously after taking a long-term, planned exercise training. Also the activity of the parasympathetic nerve turns to prevail over the activity of the sympathetic nerve at the same time. In other words, the reason that athletes have higher HRV is because they have higher parasympathetic nerve activity. Hence HRV has a significant meaning no matter in analysis of exercise physiology and exercise science.
