This study analyzes the level of general rugby coaches' professional capability. The registered coaches participate in ”Chinese Taipei Rugby Football Union” are applied as research objects. The research observes the following results:First, in general, qualifications of a rugby coach include a certificate of ”National B Class”, the age between 30-34 with a bachelor degree, and a ”one to three year” seniority. Most of the coaches used to be National Team' players, or are currently hired as school PE coaching teachers.Second, professional competence of the coaches has reached above a middle level, especially the proficiency of applying competition tactics and strategies is the highest level. Meanwhile, their understanding of sport theoretical knowledge is the lowest level.Third, comparing the different background variables for different rugby coaches on different factors regardless their positions and status, there are no significant variance. However, it showed significant variance on the differences in educational attainment, age, seniority, the class level of coaching certification and the highest level as a player. (p＜.05).
