作為散文家的林語堂,倡「幽默」,主「性靈」,乃至提出「以自我為中心,以閑適為格調」的說法。此一命題,在現代散文文體形塑的過程中,實具有「主題聚焦」(於自我)與「風格定調」(為閑適)的雙重意義。易言之,林語堂散文論述與散文創作中的「我」,不僅僅涉及內容而已,更是一種「看(世界)法」、「說(情思)法」、「寫(文章)法」。在此一基本認知下,本文準備叩觸下列問題:(1)散文主我,是偶然還是必然?是一家獨見還是一世共識?是舊傳統,還是新發展?(2)林語堂論述與創作下的「我」,如何建構起來?具有哪些特徵?(3)「閑適格調」與「自我中心」是否可以理所當然地並存?兩者究竟是相得益彰,還是相互框限?(4)事後看來,林語堂「安排」在「現代散文」之中的「我」,如今面目是否依舊?精神是否長存?方法是否更新? |
英文摘要 |
As an essayist, Lin Yu Tang tries to carry out the concept of ”humor” in his writings. He also advocates showing ”personality” within the prose and provides his opinion on ”self as a center, leisure as a style”. When looking back at the development of modern essay genre, his statement actually has dual meanings. One is ”topic focusing on the self” and the other is ”style settling as leisure”. In a word, the self in Lin Yu Tang's essay writing refers not only the contents of the works, but also the way he sees the world, talks about his ideas and the way he composes. Under this basic cognition, this article is about to involve the following questions. First, is self-focusing in essays a coincidence or necessity? Is it personal opinion or collective thoughts? Is it rather a tradition or a new development? Second, how does the self in Lin Yu Tang's writings constructed? What characteristics does this self have? Third, can self focusing and leisure style both exist? And the last, as readers, after reading Lin Yu Tang's essays, do we find the ”arrangement” of the self in his ”modern prose” still exist? Does this spirit last long? Is this way arrangement renewed? |
