This paper discuss about the relationship between Xiao Yao Tian (1913-1990) who is the Southwardly Writers and history of Malaysian Chinese Literature. Malaysian Chinese Literature has an intricate relationship with Mainland Chinese Literature; the beginning of Malaysian Chinese Literature was the literary history of outsiders. The relationship between the two subjects above is fluid, and is not completely opposite. Xiao Yao Tian left China to Hong Kong in 1949. In 1953, he moved further towards the south from Hong Kong. We will identify the literary fate between the two British colonies of Hong Kong and Malaya through his case studies, and this further helps us to rethink the change in implication of "Southwardly Writers" after the 1950's, and the ways the identity of Southwardly Writers to generate dialogue and antagonism against the Malaya. He demonstrates also the thinking perspective of writers and scholars.
