本研究旨在探究國小六年級學童對於動植物呼吸作用的另有概念。研究資料的收集方式,以高雄市兩所國小215名六年級學童,進行開放性紙筆測驗,進而從中挑選70名具另有概念傾向的學童,進行概念構圖、人體呼吸繪圖與綠色植物呼吸繪圖,最後再從中挑選38名學童,進行個別晤談。本研究發現學童對於呼吸作用的定義、氣體的交換、呼吸運動、與光合作用的關係、呼吸的器官(部位)等呼吸作用的主題均具另有概念。

英文摘要

The purpose of this research project in the field of elementary school science teaching was to explore 6th grade students' alternative conceptions of respiration. Data collection in this study was based on the open paper-and-pencil tests of 215 6th grade students from two elementary schools in Kaohsiung City; 70 students with a tendency toward alternative conceptions of respiration were selected. The study further conducted concept mapping, drawings of the human body's respiratory system, and drawings showing the respiratory process in green plants. Finally, 38 of these students were selected for individual interviews. The results of the study showed that students had many alternative conceptions regarding the following issues: the definition of respiration, gas exchange, respiratory exercises, relationship to photosynthesis, and the organs/sites of respiration.
