This research is conducted to find out the effect of school faculty & staff participating Mental & Physical Health Exercise and the results of research are to be used as reference in promoting the Exercise to more schools. 65 Volunteers from a national university, both male and female joined this project. They were divided into less active group (4 times a week, 35 persons), medium active group (5-7 times a week, 18 persons) and high active group (8 time or more per week, 12 persons). The Mental & Physical Health Exercise designed by Sports Health Science Research Center of Yang Ming University. After instruction for group, a computer automatic play program was broadcasted 10 minutes per time and twice a day for 6 weeks to lead and drive the tested individual to take move. Before and after the implementation of the Mental-Physical Health Exercise was implemented, the individuals are measure of body weight and BMI test as well as questionnaire survey. The data obtained was consolidated and analyzed for the effects. The results were conducted with t-Test, One-Way ANOVA and Scheffé Method for statistical analysis. The findings showed that in BMI, except the high active group has the BMI after implementation of the Exercise is significantly lower than before the implementation (p<.05), and it is also significantly lower than less active group (p<.05), the is no significant difference before and after. It appears that the high active group has better improvement in BMI than less active group after the 6-week Mental-Physical Health Exercise implementation. Also, it is found also that in the questionnaire survey, the volunteer failed to participate in the full range is lack of support from unit chief. However, most of them believe that staying away from work to exercise allows one to stretch muscles a bit and relax the stress is helpful in increasing work efficiency. It the support from unit chief is assured, plus perhaps a program of reward and discipline system, immediate effect is foreseeable. |
