十九世紀臺灣在地文人的散文,常蘊含有關歷史文化、風俗民情、社會參與、書院教育及儒學思想等主題。其中,臺南文人施瓊芳與施士洁為全臺唯一進士父子,曾擔任海東、白沙書院院長,為書院學術地位的提昇而長期貢獻心力。其散文多論及文昌祠、育嬰堂、藥王廟、海神廟、朝天宮、義民祠等空間載體,呈現作者對於溺女現象的人道關懷,也透顯對於文昌信仰、敬字等習俗的感知與識見。論文架構分成:(一)書院與儒教儀式論述:探討書院教育與知識菁英的養成、儒教儀式的再現。(二)社會參與的論述:分析社會救濟、移風易俗等議題。(三)地方信仰的論述:包含家族記憶與祭祀書寫、藥王廟與海神、義民祠等。除了分析施氏父子的社會參與之外,也關注於散文中的文化意涵。「風俗」為社會上歷時久遠之風尚習俗,其形成過程與社會發展有密不可分的關係。故以《石蘭山館遺稿》、《後蘇龕文集》為文本,參照臺灣史、民俗學、文化研究等領域的研究成果,並結合田野訪談後人以取得相關資訊。期望藉由詮釋在地文人的風俗論述,能有助於深化臺灣歷史文化的教學與研究。 |
英文摘要 |
Prose written by Taiwan literati in 19(superscript th) century usually contains rich themes of history, culture, conventions, public participation, classical academies, Confucianism and so on. Among all the intellectuals, Tainan scholar Shih, Chiung-Fang (施瓊芳) and his son Shih, Shih- ji (施士洁) are the only father and son who both win the honorable title of Chin-Shih (進士). They devoted themselves to promoting the academic status of classical academy while respectively being the Deans of Tung-Hai Academy (海東書院) and Pai-Sha Academy (白沙書院). Their prose mostly covers some spaces, such as Wen-Chang Temple(文昌祠), kindergarten (育嬰堂)、 Temple of Medicine King (藥王廟)、Temple of Sea God (海神廟)、 Chao-Tien Temple (朝天宮)、Yi Min temple (義民祠) and so on. From which we can see how two of them express their humanistic concerns for the drowned maids as well as perception of and perspectives on Wen-Chang belief and words-worshipping customs. This thesis is divided into three major parts. First, discourses on classical academy and Confucian rituals: to study the buildings up of classical academy education and cultiration of intellectual elites as well as representation of Confucian rituals. Second, discourses on social participation: to analyze issues such as social welfare and customs changes. Third, discourses on local belief: to examine writings of family memory and religious worship. this thesis also pays much attention to the cultural aspect. In addition to analyzing father and son of the Shihs' social participation. <||>Convention<||> is a set of social norms taking the form of customs passed down from the ancient time to the present, which is closely related to social development. I take Posthumous Manuscript of Shih Lan Shan Kuan (《石蘭山館遺稿》) and Anthology of Hou Su Kan (《後蘇龕文集》) as my texts to analyze, also with other academic papers related to Taiwan history, ethnology and cultural studies and the field trip information from Shihs' descendants. I hope the interpretation of the discourses on local literati's customs could reinforce the teaching and study of Taiwan history and culture. |
