Yangshengyun (陽聲韻) in Mandarin dialect still holds a nasal final, the Shanxi Yuncheng (運城) dialect in the outer edge of Mandarin dialect presents a variety of appearances: A, nasal final; Second, nasalized rhyme; Third, pure vowel rhyme. The expression of various forms, in fact, is the result of the internal complex voice development stage and superposing colloquial-literary strata. The Xian-shan-shen-zhen she (咸山深臻攝) has both of the representation of nasalized rhyme and pure vowel rhyme. The Zeng-geng-tong-dang-Jiang she (曾梗通宕江攝) retains nasal final, but also have the colloquial- reading sound of the pure vowel rhyme. By exploring the dynamic evolution and the different selection of literary-vs.-colloquial readings of Yangshengyun (陽聲韻) in Yuncheng (運城) dialect, it will help us to understand the evolution mechanisms of nasal final.
