隨著時代變遷、全球逐步走向資訊化的環境，手機已成為每個人生活中不可或缺且貼身密切接觸的物件。台灣的醫療系統順應時代潮流跟著資訊化，在邁向智慧醫療的過程中，手機、平板電腦等行動裝置因可即時獲取及記錄病人資訊，是醫療人員極佳的輔助工具。但醫療環境中充滿許多肉眼不可見的微生物，如未落實手部衛生，碰觸過病人或其周遭環境的雙手後續再使用行動裝置，也未定期清潔該電子設備，都極有可能使其存有傳播致病菌、對自身健康產生危害或進而引發醫療照護相關感染的潛在風險。最重要的是，須落實手部衛生五時機，以減少手機污染的風險，並搭配定期替手機執行適當清潔消毒的措施。

Cell phones are indispensable personal objects in modern life. Mobile devices are instrumental to smart health and treatments. Healthcare workers can acquire information of vital signs and patient condition and make medical decisions rapidly in emergent situation using mobile devices. However, numerous microorganisms are invisible in the medical environment. Their transmission may occur after direct or indirect contact between healthcare workers and their surroundings. These microorganisms move to the hands, body surface, or mobile devices, which are frequently used. If healthcare workers ignore hand hygiene and adequate cleansing of mobile devices, microbes can spread and cause hospital-associated infections in patients with immune deficiency. Good compliance with hand hygiene and regular cleaning of mobile devices are crucial for reducing the risk of transmission.
