受到時代風氣的影響,明代的文人不但賞花、插花,也有不少插花理論之著作問世,其中開風氣之先的是高濂的〈瓶花三說〉,而最為人所稱道的是張謙德的《瓶花譜》與袁宏道的《瓶史》,二書甚至被譽為是中國插花典籍中的雙璧。 萬曆十九年初刊的《遵生八牋》一書,為總結中國歷代以來日常生活體驗的集大成著作,而其第六牋〈燕閒清賞牋〉與花學的關係最為密切,全文約一千六百字的〈瓶花三說〉便收錄於其中。《瓶花譜》是張謙德於萬曆二十三年所著,全書約一千九百字,書中大部分在談論瓶花的維護與攝養,而「品花」一節,以插花學的角度對花材的品評最是精闢。《瓶史》一書完成於萬曆二十七年,其書約三千四百字,凡插花之理論及技術方法無不包羅,所述並深及花藝學之核心。八年之間,明代出現了三篇最具代表性的花藝理論文字,令人十分好奇他們的論述觀點是否有其傳承性。 基於承先啟後的概念,本文的論述方式是以張謙德的《瓶花譜》為核心,除了探討張氏生平與著作動機、介紹《瓶花譜》的花藝理論,並以其文字為基礎,與〈瓶花三說〉、《瓶史》作比較,除了藉此了解他們的花藝理論有何差異性與關連性,同時,也想藉此為張謙德的《瓶花譜》尋找它在花藝史上的定位。 |

During the period of Ming Dynasty, literati gradually enjoyed the flower arranging art and presented some theories on it. The pioneering treatise was Gao Lian's〈Ping Hua San Shuo〉, and the best known works were Zhang Qian-de's《Ping Hua Pu》and Yuan Hung-dao's《Ping Shi》, both were regarded as classics in this field. 《Zhun Shen Ba Jian》(Eight Essays on Cherishing Life), first published in 1591,was a comprehensive masterpiece comprising elegant daily life experiences of the preceding Dynasties. In this book,〈Yen Xian Qing Shang Jian〉is closely related to the flower study. This book contains 1600 characters of 〈Ping Hua San Shuo〉.《Ping Hua Pu》(Chronicle of the Vase Flower)was published in 1595 by Zhang Qian-de. This book contains only 1900 characters, dealt more with the maintaining and nourishing of the vase flower. In this work, the section on grading the flower level in considered the most brilliant part. 《Ping Shi》(History of the Vase Flower)was not published until 1599. This book contains 3400 characters, discusses theories and techniques of flower arranging, and delves into the core ideas of the flower art. The above three works were the most representative in the field of flower arranging art. The fact that they appeared in eight years makes us curious about the connection and succession of their theories. In order to clarify this point, the present essay will focus on Zhang Qian-de's《Ping Hua Pu》. It will first introduce Zhang's life and his motive of writing, discuss the flower arranging art of《Ping Hua Pu》, and compare it with 〈Ping Hua San Shuo〉and 《Ping Shi》. In this comparison, the author will understand the diversity and connection among the three works, and will further evaluate Zhang's 《Ping Hua Pu》in the history of flower arranging art. |
