The purpose of this study is to understand the development of psychosocial function of people with disabilities participating in physical fitness activity camps, and hope to develop a psychological and social function scale for people with disabilities, and to explore the differences in the psychosocial functions and physical fitness among various types of disabilities. 250 students who participated in physical fitness activities in 2013 were selected as pre-test subjects. According to item analysis and exploratory factor analysis, 25 items were determined as the formal scale, with six dimensions; cognitive skills, behavioral norms, emotional intelligence, household behaviors, interpersonal relationships and career skills. A total of 606 students with various disabilities (intellectual disabilities, autism, multiple disabilities, hearing impairment and visual impairment) participating in physical fitness activities from 2014 to 2017 were used as the research sample, including 388 boys and 218 girls. The results through exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis showed that the psychosocial function scale had a high degree of internal consistency and stability. The Psychosocial Function Scale is an effective and stable assessment tool, which can assess six factors, including cognitive skills, behavioral norms, emotional intelligence, home behavior, interpersonal relationships, and career skills. And there are significant differences among people with different types of disabilities in the psychosocial functions (cognitive skills, behavioral norms, emotional intelligence, home behavior, interpersonal relationships and career skills) and physical fitness abilities. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for the diagnosis of psychosocial function of persons with disabilities.
