This research was to understand employees' cognition of Green Hospitals and Health Promoting Hospitals as well as the relevance. A total of 278 questionnaires were received with a response rate of 46.3%. The main results were: (1) the top three advantages which hospital employees regarded as the outcomes of promoting greener technologies were increasing the efficiency of energy utilization, reducing the consumption of earth resources, enhancing hospital image, and promoting the health of patients and personnel; (2) whereas the top three disadvantages were insufficient space in hospitals, interdepartmental integration, difficulties in communicating, and insufficient budget; (3) the results of correlation analysis of employees' basic information and green hospital personnel's degree of cognition indicated that there was a notable difference between age, marital status, job employment nature, service seniority, average daily work hour, and degree of cognition on green hospitals a significant; (4) the relationship between cognition of green hospitals and health promoting hospitals was positive. We recommended that hospitals may advance to green hospitals, implement the concepts of ecology, energy conservation, environmental protection and health of employees.
