唐傳奇在中國小說史上，居於承先啟後之重要地位。六朝志怪多為傳錄，至唐則一變而為文人有意為之。「有意為之」遂使唐傳奇展現不同於以往之小說風貌，綻放璀璨之藝術光芒。其中尤以愛情小說，於質於量最為可觀。本文於是取唐傳奇愛情一類，究析其「意」之所在的創作心理，包括創作力的展現、愛情的追求、情慾的滿足及長生不老的嚮往等。並由此創作心理，探究其投射於作品時，所呈顯之藝術特徵。

The novels written by scholars of Tang Dynasty are very important because they make much effecting on novels of latter eras. Before Tang the writers just recorded something that they heard or saw. But the novelists of Tang wrote novels with strong motive and this made their works be more delicate and attrative. These works are so marvelous and are so different from others that we call them Legend novels. This research is planning to figure out the writing motive of these novelists and by this to describe the characteristics of their works.
