慢性疼痛長期以來一直是社會經濟上的重要負擔,然而,人們對於疼痛的認知卻相對缺乏探討。近年來,與疼痛神經科學教育相關的研究日益增加,其目的不僅僅在於提升公眾對於疼痛相關知識的了解,更重要的是促進病人大腦結構的適應性改變,進而影響其對疼痛的信念和行為。眾多研究也證實了疼痛神經科學教育的有效性,包括減輕疼痛、提升生活品質、減少動作恐懼-回避心理、降低疼痛的災難化程度、減少醫療支出並減緩失能情況。本篇研究以敘述性回顧探討疼痛神經科學教育在慢性疼痛病人中的角色、面對的挑戰以及未來的發展方向,以期了解疼痛神經科學教育作為慢性疼痛的輔助治療,以及在不同慢性疼痛病人中的療效。

英文摘要

Chronic pain has been a significant socioeconomic burden for long. Yet, little has been explored in public understanding of pain. The number of studies related to pain neuroscience education has been increasing in recent years. Besides enhancing public awareness of pain-related knowledge, more importantly, these studies aim to promote adaptive changes in patient brain structures, thereby influencing their beliefs and behaviors towards pain. Numerous studies have also confirmed the effectiveness of pain neuroscience education, including pain reduction, improvement in quality of life, reduction of fear-avoidance behaviors, mitigation of pain catastrophizing, decreased healthcare expenditures, and attenuation of disability. This current article reviews and explores the role of pain neuroscience education in patients with chronic pain, its challenges, and its future direction in order to understand its adjunctive therapeutic role in chronic pain and its efficacy among patients with chronic pain.
