本研究以網絡理論為基礎,以廠商和產業二個不同層次的變項,分別探討廠商特定優勢、國際化動機以及產業整體研發能力,對海外子公司的內部與外部技術鑲嵌性的影響。本研究採用經濟部統計處「製造業對外投資實況調查」及行政院國家科學委員會「科學技術統計要覽」之次級資料,擷取台灣製造業廠商海外直接投資之樣本共1,339筆,應用層級線性模型和迴歸分析進行假說的驗證,結果發現母公司的研發密集度對海外子公司的內部技術鑲嵌性的影響不顯著,但對海外子公司的外部技術鑲嵌性則有顯著的負向影響。母公司在母國所屬產業的研發密集度對海外子公司的內部技術鑲嵌性有顯著的正向影響,但對母公司的研發密集度與海外子公司的內部技術鑲嵌性間的調節效果則不顯著。廠商尋找資源和尋找市場的國際化動機對海外子公司的內部技術鑲嵌性都有顯著的正向影響,而尋找策略性資產的國際化動機則對海外子公司的外部技術鑲嵌性則有顯著的正向影響。
