吳爾芙的《達洛衛夫人》、《燈塔行》二書中的性別與空間觀的探討

吳爾芙認為性別與空間這兩主題是息息相關的，如果女性無法跨越性別這道不平等的藩籬，也就無法有自己的空間或發揮自己擁有的天賦。本文即是針對《達洛衛夫人》、《燈塔行》這二書中女性因性別的限制以至於空間的局限對照女性在跨越性別藩籬後的所能擁有的空間與可能性所做的研究。這二書以不同的女性呈現給讀者不同的空間意義，雖然她鼓勵發展女性空間，但她並不完全否定父權文化的價值觀，在這二書隱含陽剛與陰柔特質並存的重要性，如《達洛衛夫人》中的大笨鐘與聖瑪格麗特的鐘聲的合奏，《燈塔行》中男性文化與女性文化的交互作用。吳爾芙的兩性觀與價值觀強調需雙方互補配合，這二書探討的都是有關女性的轉變與空間的關係，並間接肯定兩性文化並行。
